Saving ByteBot - Tech Central Carnival 2024 In-Person
What?
Our little mascot, ByteBot has been gaining popularity, and with popularity comes jealousy. An anonymous crook has threatened to attack ByteBot with a virus…destroying it one byte at a time. Can you help us save ByteBot?
Three days of games, workshops and demonstrations. Attend a selection of them to accumulate points to redeem a goodie bag or even win 1 of 3 awesome prizes!
How to play?
Register for the event, access the game online and complete the tasks assigned.
Some things to note:
- You'll need a mobile phone with Internet access as we'll be giving you a link on PlayTours (web-based app) to access the game
- Register individually (You can play with your friends but to claim a goodie bag or be eligible for the lucky draw, you must register separately)
- Ensure you input the same nickname in the registration form here and on the PlayTours link (on the day of the event) so we can ensure it is you on the leaderboard! Try not to use your staff/student ID as the leaderboard will be viewable by the public. Be as unique as possible!
- Activities are available at both Central Library and Medicine+Science Library, please take note of the location when you are attempting an activity
- There are multiple tasks over the 3 days; you do not have to attend everyday. Choose the ones that pique your interest and accumulate the minimum number of points if you want to claim a goodie bag

Early-bird registration perks!
Register before 19 Jan 2024, 11.59pm to get 10 additional points to boost your chance at the lucky draw for the top 3 prizes.
- The additional 10 points will be issued when you attend the event, and we can verify your registration with your PlayTours nickname.
- You will not be eligible if you cancel your original registration and re-register after 19 Jan 2024, 11.59pm.
How to win?
- Obtain a total of 150 points to exchange for a goodie bag
- Obtain 250 points to enter a lucky draw to win 1 of 3 prizes, a Pico 4 VR headset OR $100 Lazada Voucher OR $50 Lazada Voucher

Registration has closed. (This event has to be booked as part of a series)
Game Rules:
- Only current full-time NUS students and staff (excluding staff from NUS Libraries) with valid NUS email addresses are eligible to participate in the game.
- The PlayTours nickname MUST match the nickname registered in this form
- Participants with an accumulated score of 150 points will be entitled to a goodie bag (while stocks last).
- Participants who earn more than 250 points will be entered into a lucky draw to win the top 3 prizes.
- Each participant is only eligible for 1 prize.
- Winners will be notified via email by 16 Feb 2024.
- Prizes to be collected at Central Library Service Desk (Level 1) from 16 Feb 2024. Please present your student/staff card for verification. Prizes not collected by 15 Mar 2024 will be forfeited.
- By participating in this competition, you consent to NUS Libraries’ collection of your personal data for the purpose of the lucky draw and agree that NUS Libraries may, for this purpose, collect, use and/or disclose your personal data.
- NUS Libraries reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions of the lucky draw without prior notice.
