Researcher Unbound+: Green Libraries - Walking the Talk in Sustainability In-Person
This September, celebrate Sustainability Month with NUS Libraries and discover our Green Libraries! Join us on a special guided tour of the Central Library to see how NUS Libraries is making sustainability a daily reality, from eco-friendly construction materials to reducing our carbon footprint in daily operations.
This tour takes you beyond the classroom to the actual spaces where sustainable change takes place. You’ll gain insight into how our Green Libraries form one of our four sustainability pillars, aligning with the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
If you're passionate about building a more sustainable world, or if you just want to know how a small action can make a big impact on sustainability, this is the tour for you!

About the speakers:
Jamila Osman
Principal Librarian (Research Librarian – HASS)
A qualified educator and counsellor, with years of experience in broadcasting and academic librarianship, Jamila enjoys researching, teaching, and, yes, lifelong learning, complementing her support for multidisciplinary, humanities, arts, and social sciences disciplines. She loves the whole intriguing process of discovery and creation, finding ways to showcase them in an engaging manner.
Andy Quek
Principal Librarian and Head of Operations
Andy Quek is the Principal Librarian and Head of Operations at NUS Libraries, National University of Singapore. He plays a key leadership role in advancing library services, overseeing operations, and contributing to major initiatives such as advancing sustainability through library building design. As part of the senior team, Andy works closely with the academic and library community to promote operational excellence at Singapore's largest academic and research library.
