Description
Located at Central Library Level 4, Tech Central is a tech-enriched playground with immersive and interactive facilities to stimulate education and research. You can explore Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) to improve pedagogic methods. Or even make your research come to life via the 360 visualisation cylinder.
The Green Room is decked out in chroma key, allowing for chroma key compositing. Green is used as it is distinctly different in hue from human skin.
The room can be used for filming or for simulating mixed reality. It can also be used to develop your own Virtual Reality app. Please let the team know if you need assistance with setting up Mixed Reality for your own app!
Provided in this space:
- The full HTC Vive set
- High-end PC workstation for editing and capturing VR/MR
- 4.45m x 5.60m room painted in Chroma Key Green (all the walls and floor except the ceiling) -- please note HTC Vive's base stations can only track up to 3.5m x 3.5m space
- A choice of ZED 2.2k stereo camera or Logitech Brio 4k HD webcam
- Standard camera tripod
- 55" TV screen to broadcast your content
- Chairs, tables, and additional HTC Vive sets can be provided upon request (subject to availability)

- Additional equipment for filming, such as DSLR camera, props, and floodlights
